Semi-permanent lashes installation refers to a professional beauty treatment where eyelash extensions are applied to enhance the length, volume, and overall look of natural lashes. These extensions are designed to last for weeks with proper care, making them a popular alternative to mascara or strip lashes.

What Are Semi-Permanent Lashes?

Semi-permanent lashes are individual synthetic lashes that are applied to your natural lashes using a safe adhesive. The extensions come in various lengths, thicknesses, and curls, allowing you to customize the look. These lashes are not permanent because they shed naturally with the lifecycle of your natural lashes (usually every 4-6 weeks), but they last much longer than temporary options like strip lashes.

Types of Semi-Permanent Lashes:

  1. Classic Lashes: A single extension is applied to each natural lash. This gives a more subtle, natural look.
  2. Volume Lashes: Multiple finer extensions are applied to each natural lash (2-6 per lash). This provides a fuller, more dramatic look.
  3. Hybrid Lashes: A combination of classic and volume lashes, offering a balanced, textured look.
  4. Mega Volume Lashes: Very fine extensions are applied in large quantities, creating an ultra-dramatic, dense lash look.

Process of Semi-Permanent Lashes Installation:

  1. Consultation:

    • Discuss the client’s desired look (natural, dramatic, voluminous, etc.).
    • Assess their natural lashes to ensure they are suitable for the procedure.
  2. Preparation:

    • The client lies back in a comfortable position.
    • The eyes are cleansed, and any makeup or oils are removed to ensure proper adhesion of the lashes.
    • Under-eye pads or gel patches are applied to protect the lower lashes and skin from the adhesive.
  3. Application:

    • The lash artist carefully isolates each natural lash using a tweezer and applies the semi-permanent extension with a specialized adhesive.
    • This process can take between 1.5 to 2.5 hours, depending on the style and the number of lashes being applied.
  4. Drying and Setting:

    • After application, the lashes are left to dry for a few minutes to ensure the adhesive bonds securely.
    • The client is then able to sit up and look at their new lashes.
  5. Aftercare Instructions:

    • Clients should avoid water, oil-based products, or mascara for the first 24-48 hours to allow the adhesive to fully cure.
    • Regular lash brushing and avoiding touching the lashes can help preserve their lifespan.
